Summer 2020 Predicted Paint Colors: Calm Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams Beach House Colors

Both now and when the quarantine is over, I think people will want calming and neutral colors in their homes. I hear the argument for color, and I use it boldly in accents. But for me and for most of my readers that I have talked to, a neutral and quiet palette resembling a beach house remains the one of choice. So I thought I’d pull together a Summer 2020 Predicted Paint Colors post with my favorite Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams colors. These are all tried and true best selling paint colors and reliable images (I researched them extensively, have used most, and know the images to be accurate).

Example of how to do a whole house in 5 of these colors is to start with your favorite light gray and use it in the halls and kitchen. Then pick a slightly darker one (or two) for the connecting rooms, like the dining and family rooms. Use a dark color accent like navy blue on the bath cabinets and lower kitchen cabinets, and then a calm spa blue in the bedroom. Repeat the dark blue in a guest room or boy’s room, and a pretty and surprising pink, coral, or green in a girls room. And of course use the same white throughout.
