There is a design firm in Philadelphia called Shophouse Design that I have followed for years (here). The designers are great at using neutral high-end materials with great attention to detail. If I lived in these rooms, I would add hot pink pillows and colorful flowers and personalized items, but I understand the need to have them photographed more neutrally for the portfolio. Keeping them simple also highlights the beauty of the materials, which is what I wanted to show you today:
I also wanted to show you my new sectional that arrived yesterday in that TV room I’ve been working on (remember the grasscloth wallpaper that I did myself (here) – that was this room too). There is a ways to go one this room (windows, rug – I want a more gray color), but it’s taking shape. The one thing about these photos is that the wallpaper looks more green and the fabric looks more blue than in real life. They actually look closer to the same hue and better in person:
This is the rug that doubles as my dog’s all time favorite pee mat. It’s great that it fits in the washing machine, but not so great that it wrinkles. I am going to move it but was just trying the color here:
